Playoffs Quarterfinal series of 2022/23, played with a best-of-five formula, started today with the game between regular season second-placed Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and No.7 Indykpol AZS Olsztyn.
Prediction respected as the home team celebrated a clear straight sets win (25:13, 25:20, 25:21).
After a first set literally dominated, Olsztyn try in several occasion to re-open the game but Aluron is too strong and, after two great defenses by Santiago Danani and an error by rivals’ captain Moritz Karlitzek, they managed to close the game with a final 25-21.
To make the difference are 11 winning blocks (4 from top scorer Uros Kovacevic, who ended the game with 15 points to his name) compared to only 4 of Olsztyn, and 7 aces to 2. Dawid Konarski also contributed with 14 points to his name through 62% in attack, while Karol Butryn wad the only player in double digit on the losing side with 13 points but only 38% and 12% efficiency in attack.
Game 2 is scheduled already tomorrow, while Game 3 on Saturday, April 15.
But tomorrow the opener to another quarterfinal series: leaders Asseco Resovia Rzeszów will face No.8 PSG Stal Nysa!
