Austria: Hartberg and Graz close Round 13 with victories

Second-placed TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg lived up their role as favorite in the Powerfusion Volley League Round 13 duel against UVC McDonald’s Ried celebrating a 3-1 (25:19, 25:13, 19:25, 25:19) home win on Wednesday evening to fly now just two points behind defending champions HYPO TIROL volleyball team.
Top scorers for the home team were Lukas Glatz (19), Đorđe Knezevic (15) and Dmytro Fedorenko (14), and for Ried Tomasz Rutecki, Bruno Vinti (10 each) and Borys Zhukov (8).
The fourth-placed team UVC Holding Graz, won the second game of the day on the field of last-placed VBC TLC Weiz 3-0 (25:15, 26:24, 25:15), controlling the action until the middle of the second set, when they had a weak phase, gave up a 6-point lead and having to recover from 18:21. However, they were able to turn things around and then destroyed the rivals in third set. Johannes Kratz, Arwin Kopschar and Benedikt Sablatnig scored 10 points each for the winners, while top scorers for the home team were Mark Kremer (16), Michael Burgmann (7) and Manuel Schlager (6).
Five matches are scheduled for the weekend, including the big match between HYPO TIROL and Union Waldviertel on Saturday evening (6 p.m.), while VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt and VCA Amstetten NÖ will fight for the last playoff ticket.
