In last three matches of SuperLega Credem Banca Round 17, Round 6 of second leg, Piacenza, Civitanova, and Cisterna secured impressive victories.
Cucine Lube Civitanova showcased their dominance as they triumphed over Valsa Group Modena with a hard-fought 3-0 victory (25:21, 27:25, 25:23). Despite the absence og f Ivan Zaytsev the winners, led by MVP Aleksandar Nikolov, author of 13 points with 1 ace and 2 blocks, and Adis Lagumdzija, top scorer with 14 with 2 aces and 2 winning blocks, earning a well-deserved win. For Modena, who suffered the bad day of Maksim Sapozhkov (only 2/12), double digit for Osmany Juantorena (12 points with 1 ace and 1 block) and Tommaso Rinaldi, who added 11 with 3 aces.
Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza came back from a set down to defeat Italian Cup winners Sir Susa Vim Perugia by 3-1 (18:25, 25:22, 25:17, 25:18). Yoandy Leal’s outstanding performance, well-deserved named MVP of the game with 24 points, along with Romanò’s five aces, powered Piacenza to victory to secure their third-place position.
In the evening, Cisterna Volley triumphed over Gioiella Prisma Taranto with a very important 1-3 victory (26:24, 17:25, 23:25, 20:25).
Despite a promising start for second-to-last Taranto, Cisterna, led by Theo Faure, top scorer with 20 points, made a comeback, securing an important win that propelled them to eighth place in the standings at +3 from Modena!
