Austria: Hartberg destroy Waldviertel in Game 1 of semifinals

TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg had a perfect start in the Powerfusion Austrian Volley League semi-final best-of-five series, as celebrated a convincing 3-0 (25:21, 26:24, 25:10) home win against Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel. Game 2 is scheduled on Saturday in Zwettl.
The visiting side were better at the very beginning of the game, starting with a clear 7-1 lead in first set. However, the hosts quickly reacted, equalizing the score 11:11 and took the command until the end.
The second set was tue most balanced one, until the 19:14 in favor of Hartberg. But it wasn’t the end, as the rivals not only came back, but even took the lead at 21:22. But the Styrians were the luckier team, able to take a 2-0 lead thanks to an error in attack by Waldviertel.
And then the second-placed in regular season closed third set (and the game) without major problems with a clear 25:10 after 77 minutes of play.
The top scorers in the Stadtwerke-Hartberg-Halle, which was once again full-packed were Lukas Glatz and Đorđe Knezevic with 17 points each for the winners, and Mateusz Sniezek (11) and Paul Nusterer (8) on the other side of the net.
