Austria: Hypo Tirol with a great comeback join Hartberg to final (and the other games of the day)

Defending champions HYPO TIROL volleyball team are again in the Powerfusion VL Men final series and will face TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg. However, their semifinals best-of-five series there wasn’t easy at all.
In Game 4 against SK Zadruga Aich/Dob on Saturday evening in the JUFA Arena Bleiburg, the Innsbruck side had to recover from a two-set deficit, also canceling five match points in the tie-break, ended 19-21! After 135 minutes of play, a block from Milan Jovanovic finally closed the game, 2-3 (28:26, 25:19, 13:25, 18:25, 19:21).
Top scorers of the day were Bryan Camino Martinez (22), Jekabs Dzenis (15) and Kristof Horvath (13) for the hosts and, among the winners, Luan Weber (23), Niklas Kronthaler (18) and Mihkel Varblane (12).
The “Best-of-7” final series begins on April 10th.

The other verdict of the day is that UVC McDonald’s Ried and UVC Holding Graz will face each other for fifth place and the last European Cup ticket. Ried prevailed over TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien in four sets (25:23, 25:20, 17:25, 25:22), while Sokol had won away, but only in a tie-break. Therefore no Golden Set was necessary.
Graz advanced confidently against VCA Amstetten NÖ. After a 3-1 away win, the Murstadt team literally destroyed the rivals in front of their home fans, 25:18, 25:18 and 25:9.

In relegation Round, almost relegated VBC TLC Weiz celebrated a hard-fought home win over Oberbank STEELVOLLEYS Linz-Steg, 3-0 (27:25, 26:24, 25:16).
