Welcome to our seventh appointment with VolleyBar (or, in Italian, RASSEGNA STAMPA, well, more or less. We’re doing it better!), with several news from world of volleyball today too.

In Poland, Norwid Częstochowa, relegated but again in Plusliga next season, officially announced experienced Bosnian setter Željko Ćorić, great protagonist of last seasons with French powerhouse Tours.
Meanwhile, after an emotional 2025/26 season, ZAKSA say goodbye to 7 players: Jakub Szymański, Igor Grobelny, Karol Urbanowicz, Kamil Rychlicki, Mateusz Czunkiewicz, Konrad Stajer, and Wojciech Kraj.

In France, 24-year-old American setter Nic Slight is the new setter of Plessis Robinson. After playing for Grand Canyon University, he started his European career in Germany before enjoying an excellent season with Lindemans Aalst in Belgium. With his club, he reached the Belgian league semifinals as well as the final of the CEV Challenge Cup, lost against Powervolley Milano (who just today officially welcomed Robertlandy Simon and Guillermo Falasca). And yes, Bulgarian outside hitter Georgi Tatarov will join the club too, after two seasons with the jersey of Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina, and this end of season in Turkey, with Galatasaray. In Milano he will find again coach Falasca, after 2022/23 season together in Narbonne, France!

After three years, Italian powerhouse Sir Safety Perugia has officially said goodbye to the powerful Tunisian opposite Wassim Ben Tara, one of the key players of the past season, after winning the 2025 Club World Championship against Osaka Blueton — marking the club’s third title after 2022 (in Brazil) and 2023 (in India) — as well as the Supercoppa, the Italian Championship, and the Champions League.
And Vero Volley Monza confirmed young opposite Diego Frascio also for 2026/27 season.

In Spain, Osmany Juantorena closes another chapter of his glorious career, this time with the jersey of CV Guaguas Las Palmas and says goodbye with these words:

Well guys, the moment has officially come to say goodbye. It was a very intense and difficult year, but at the same time an extremely rewarding one. I believe our strength was the unity we created within the group (THAT WAS WHAT LED US TO VICTORY).
I want to thank President Juan for the opportunity and the trust he placed in me. I sincerely thank all of you for the affection and support you showed me throughout the year. To the coaches, the medical staff, and all the members of the club…
With my strengths and weaknesses, I always tried to give my very best, and I hope I was able to leave something positive behind. I wish you all the best for next season — you will now have one more fan supporting you from afar.
Thank you so much for everything, I love you all
“.

And the club described his as one of the greatest volleyball players of all time!
