Poland: ZAKSA down Jastrzębski! 3 points also for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and Bełchatów

Round 11 of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with other three games.
The day started with the win of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle over defending champions Jastrzębski Węgiel, a success that marks the winners return to the big ones after a couple of disastrous seasons.
Now they are in fact at 5th place of the standings with 23 points at -2 from last season’s runners-up Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, who yesterday suffered an unexpected defeat on the field of Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa and PGE Projekt Warszawa, all with 25 points, while Jastrzębski remained to the top with 28 points.
3-1 (22:25, 25:22, 25:23, 25:16) is today’s final score, and Rafał Szymura was named MVP of the game with 13 points to his name through 38% in attack and 3 of his team’s 11 aces, while Mateusz Rećko added 17.
Tomasz Fornal, top scorer of the match, tallied 24 points on the other side of the net, but he wasn’t enough.
All easy for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, who trampled over Ślepsk Malow Suwałki with a clean 0-3 (11:25, 18:25, 21:25), led by top scorer Aaron Russell, author of 15 points, Karol Butryn, who added 12, and MVP Bartosz Kwolek, who left the court with 11 points including 1 ace, 1 block and 64% in attack.
Straight sets win also for PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów over Barkom Każany Lwów, 3-0 (25:15, 25:23, 26:24).
After dominating first set, the visiting side reacted, but eventually collapsed under the blow of the rivals, above all from the service line (11 aces to 1). Top scorer and MVP of the game Pavle Perić, who left the court with 15 points through 50% in attack, 1 ace and 5 of his team’s 8 winning blocks.
Round 11 will continue tomorrow with the clash between Trefl Gdańsk and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów.
