Poland: three points for ZAKSA, Lublin and Aluron. Stal Nysa KO

Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle put an end to Projekt Warszawa’s streak of victories in the 2022/23 Polish Plusliga.
In the last three matches, Warszawa showed a great volleyball which was hidden at the start of the competition.
However, in Round 8, the team from the Polish capital had to surrender to the titleholders ZAKSA, losing in four sets (25:22, 25:23, 21:25, 25:23) after which their three-game winning streak came to an end. Was this the sign of the end of the crisis of the last season’s dominators, who suffered three defeats in the first seven matches? We’ll find out next weekend.
Łukasz Kaczmarek top-scored for the winners with 18 points, while German opposite Linus Weber was absolutely the best for Warszawa with 27 points, and Piotr Nowakowski had 5 blocks.

Also LUK Lublin put an end on PSG Stal Nysa’s good moment, by beating them with a score of 3-1 (29:27, 25:20, 19:25, 25:22) while, in the last match of the day, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie prevailed over BBTS Bielsko-Biała 3-0 (25:18, 25:21, 25:23). Michał Winiarski’s guys are doing well this season, and now they moved up to the third place! The newcomers, on the other hand, after the last defeat, are in the last place in the current charts. Dawid Konarski was Aluron’s top scorer with 15 points including 4 aces, while American opposite of Bielsko-Biała Jake Hanes scored the match-high 18 points.
