Poland: Round 15 continues – 3 points for Stal Nysa and ZAKSA. 2 for Warszawa

After the advance played yesterday, in which BOGDANKA LUK Lublin won on the field of Cuprum Stilon Gorzów, Round 15 of 2024/25 Plusliga, the last one of first leg, continued today with other three games.
The day started with PGE Projekt Warszawa who struggled more than expected on the field of Ślepsk Malow Suwałki, winning the game only after a thrilling 2-3 (25:21, 21:25, 17:25, 25:21, 16:18), in a gale with lot of ups and downs in both sides.
After 158 minutes of play, Arthur Szalpuk left the court with 22 points to his name through 57% in attack, 1 block and MVP award, the same number of points of his teammate Linus Weber (1 ace and 56% in attack). The team from country’s capital is now at second place in the standings at -2 from leaders and +1 from third place, at least temporarily, as the two will face each others tomorrow in big match of the round.
In another game played today PSG Stal Nysa down Barkom Każany Lwów by 3-1 (25:22, 19:25, 25:20, 25:18), led by setter Kellian Motta Paes, MVP of the game also author of 5 points (2 aces, 2 blocks and one direct point), and Zouheir El Graoui, top scorer of the match with 24 points to his name through 59% in attack, 3 aces and 2 blocks too.
In the evening, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle beat GKS Katowice with the same result, 3-1 (25:20, 20:25, 25:22, 25:17), with 12 winning blocks (6 for the rivals) and 23 points from top scorer and MVP Igor Grobelny (2 aces, 2 blocks and an impressive 76% in attack).
Round 15 will continued tomorrow with other three games: in big match, last-season’s runners up Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will welcome leaders and titleholders Jastrzębski Węgiel, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will face Trefl Gdańsk while, in the evening, PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów will welcome Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa.
