Quartfinals of 2022/23 Austrian Bundesliga started today!
As predicted, regular season winners HYPO TIROL volleyball team started on a perfect way also their playoffs. On the field of UVC Holding Graz, the team of head coach Stefan Chrtiansky prevailed with a clear 3-0 (25:14, 25:19, 25:21) and thus took the lead in the quarter-final series (best-of-3).
Arthur Nath and Luan Weber were the most prolific player on the winning side scoring 17 and 16 points respectively, the first with 74% in attack.

SK Zadruga Aich/Dob was also able to win away, on the field of defending champion Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel. However, they managed to win only after an exciting tie break 3-2 (21:25, 25:20, 25:18, 20:25, 24:22). The hosts easily prevailed in first set, but the rivals quickly reacted to have a clear lead in the second. However, after a 1-2 disadvantage, Waldviertel react and the game has been decided at tie break, a thrilling tie break played on a very high level, in which both teams missed several match points before Aich/Dob celebrated their second narrow victory in Zwettl this season after 134 minutes of play.

TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg continued their winning path. The second in regular season defeat VBC TLC Weiz in ASKÖ-Halle Eggenberg after 132 minutes and five sets (24:26, 28:26, 16:25, 25:23, 6:15).

Close the picture UVC McDonald’s Ried who beat VCA Amstetten NÖ in just three sets (25:22, 25:18, 36:34). Decisive the 18 (!!!) winning blocks of the hosts (and the 20 points scored by captain Tomasz Rutecki, the same number of points of Michael Czerwinski, on the losing side).
