Austria: Hypo Tirol and Hartberg win Game 1 of Semifinals! And the other results of today….

HYPO TIROL and TSV Hartberg present!
ÖVV cup winner and regular season absolute leaders Hyp Tirol took the first step towards the final series of the powerfusion Austrian Volley League Men on Saturday evening.
The Innsbruck side won Game 1 of best-of-five series against UVC McDonald’s Ried with a clear 3-0 in their USI hall (25:23, 25:15, 25:15). It was already the third home win for head coach Stefan Chrtiansky’s team over these rivals without losing a single set this season!
Ried try to fight only in first sets as, from the second one, the home side were absolutey superior.
Top scorer of the day were Luan Weber (18) and Arthur Nath (15) on the winning side, and Markus Berger (9) and Gracjan Bozek (8) for Ried.
In the second semi-final series, TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg defeated SK Zadruga Aich/Dob in 105 minutes 3-1 (25:22, 18:25, 25:23, 25:22) in their home arena. The two duels in the regular season had already gone to the Styrians in four set!
Top scorer of the day were Lukas Glatz (20) and Dmytro Fedorenko (16) on the winning side, and Zlatan Yordanov (22) and Jurii Kruzhkov (15) for Aich/Dob.
About the other games of the day, Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel won in three sets on the field of VBC TLC Weiz (26:24, 25:20, 29:27).
The winner of this clash (second leg with golden set) plays against UVC Holding Graz or VCA Amstetten NÖ for fifth place.
In the relegation round, the Bundesliga sides did not show any problem: TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien beat SSV HIB Liebenau/HIB Volley Graz 3-0 (25:16, 25:21, 25:15), while VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt won against super volley OÖ/Wels/Steyr 3-1 (25:16, 25:18, 20:25, 25:14).
HotVolleys Wien achieved their first win, beating VC Hausmannstätten 3-1 (25:21, 21:25, 25:20, 25:21).
Sokol and Klagenfurt lead the standings at this moment, and the top 2 after eight rounds are qualified for Bundesliga 2023/24.
