Notes: our news organization and our editorial group have decided by mutual agreement not to publish any photos of this match taken from the web, in the public domain or taken by other photographers because we have been denied the right to carry out our work, despite the regular request for accreditation (as happened also in Game 1 and Game 3) and the global role played by our website and by our photographer (provided with a regular European Press legitimation, as a professional).

Trento’s BLM Group Arena is jam-packed for the Grand Finale of 2022/23 Superlega CredemBanca, the game that will be closed the seadon.
Only some supporters of Civitanova are missing who, unfortunately, were unable to reach Trento due to bad weather that struck some italian regions and, for them, a long applause start before the national anthem.
“Our heart is whoever suffers in these hours” is the banner exhibited by Cucine Lube Civitanova’s fans, while the hosts reply with a dedication to “Emilia Romagna, a land that doesn’t give up”.
To attend the encounter also Italy National Team head coach FefĆØ De Giorgi, engaged with the first group of players in the nearby Cavalese.

And thus, 8 years later and a conspicuous collection of lost finals, in Italy and Europe, Itas Trentino win the title, and the players around head coach Angeo Lorenzetti did it in front of their home fans, forcing the titleholders Cucine Lube Civitanova to give up after three titles in a row, after an almost perfect Game 5.
The final result, a clear 3-0 (25:20, 25:20, 25:19) after 80 minutes of play, is the perfect summary of a match dominated from start to finish, with the only exception of the very beginning of the second set, a performance that showed all difficulties of Civitanova in front of the attacks of Michieletto, Lavia and the immortal Matey Kaziyski.
Nothing to do for the visiting side, unable to create the umpteenth miracle of the season, the most important one, in a season without trophies but with good results considering the lost of difficulties, including Zaytsev’s injury in final series.

Nothing more to say about the game: in every times of difficulty, including the come back in first set that brings Civitanova to 19-19, Trento find a solution in serving and blocking, with 9 aces and 10 winning blocks at the end of the game. To make the difference from the service line Matey Kaziyski and Marko Podrascanin, while Alessandro Michieletto reply with a good performance in attack, with 17 points to his name, 44% in attack and 69% in reception.
The second line of the rivals doesn’t work, not even with the entries of Gottardo and Garcia, while in attack there is only Nikolov and, sometimes, the middle blockers, who are not enough.

Eventually, at the BLM Group Arena, only the joy of the winners and, paradoxically, also the imminent end of a cycle: next year there will be no more captain Kaziyski and coach Lorenzetti, two great protagonists of this triumph and of the climb to success.
For Lorenzetti, this is the fourth Scudetto, 22 years after the first one won with Daytona Modena in 2001/02 season. His future will be made official in the next days and will be on the bench of Perugia.
In Trento, he will be replaced by Fabio Soli.
Either way, transfers apart, Matey Kaziyski adds another championship to his name, securing his fifth title. Meanwhile, Podrascanin secures his fourth one, and Nelli claims his second.
All the other players became today Italian Champions for the very first time!
