After the first seasonal home defeat, on Wednesday in Champions League against Asseco Resovia Rzeszow, leaders Itas Trentino back to the win with a 1-3 (18:25, 25:19, 16:25, 15:25) success on the field of Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza, with a great performance in attack and blocking, decisive to close first set. In the second one they suffered the play of the hosts but, at 1-1, they reacted and were able to win the game without major problems, led by Alessandro Michieletto, MVP of the match with 18 punti through 62% in attack and 2 winning blocks, Kamil Rychlicki, who scored the same number of points through 55% and a great performance from the service line, and Daniele Lavia, who also contributed with 10.
The Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova saw over 2700 fans as the hosts Cucine Lube Civitanova managed to beat Milano only after a nail-biting tie-break (25:19, 27:25, 22:25, 15:25, 15:12), claiming a important win and the consequent fourth place in the standings. Bathlemy Chinenyeze, named MVP of the matc with 17 points and Adis Lagumdzija, top scorer with 21 points, led Civitanova, while Yuki Ishikawa, author of 19 points, starred for Milano.
Rana Verona continued their greey form, by beating newcomers and last-placed Farmitalia Catania 3-1 (25:22, 25:15, 19:25, 25:21). Verona’s setter Luca Spirito, the match MVP, showcased a good play, guiding his team to their sixth win in seven matches played.
Great win also for Cisterna Volley who, at their home ground, secured its third consecutive victory, overpowering Pallavolo Padova in four sets (21:25, 25:18, 25:20, 25:13). Efe Bayram, with 18 points, shone as MVP, playing a pivotal role in Cisterna’s march towards SuperLega survival, well supported by Top Scorer Theo Faure, who ended the game with 24 points, and Jordi Ramon with 19.
Finally, Mint Vero Volley Monza triumphed 1-3 (20:25, 25:21, 22:25, 22:25) over Gioiella Prisma Taranto at PalaMazzola. MVP Arthur Szwarc led the charge, contributing significantly to the win with his 22 points.
