It’s Wednesday and we have the first verdict in Playoffs quarterfinals of 2022/23 Plusliga: the name of first semifinalist, No.3 in regular season and Champions League Finalist Jastrzębski Węgiel, who today defeated a very combative No.6 Trefl Gdańsk on the road by 1-3 (23:25, 27:25, 18:25, 22:25).
The hosts played, in some moments of the game, a very good volleyball, led in score by Bartłomiej Bołądź, top scorer of the match with 28 points to his name through 49% in attack, 1 block and 3 aces, and with a great performance in blocking, scoring 13 points from this element compared to 9 of the winners, who were better in the decisive moment of the clash.
MVP of the match Jurij Gladyr, author of 13 points through 67% and 56% efficiency in attack, 3 winning blocks and 3 aces, while Tomasz Fornal, the MPV of previous two games, also contributed with 14 points and 52% in attack.
Also all the other series are at 2-0 in favor of the better placed teams in regular season…will anyone be able to lengthen the series?
